Information about the 2024 summer break

WHAT ARE THE OFFICE HOURS OVER THE SUMMER?

WILL TUTORING BE AVAILABLE OVER THE SUMMER?

The office will be open Tuesday-Thursday from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. until June 4. The office will be closed on holidays. If you need to contact the office, please call (228) 875-2093 and leave a voicemail, or email at office@gbaos.org. If you need to come into the school, please schedule an appointment. The office will be closed June 10-June 19.
Tutoring will be available over the summer break for students needing supplemental help. Mrs. Marsh will provide tutoring to students entering Kindergarten through 3rd grade. Mrs. Peck will provide tutoring to students entering 4th grade through 12th grade. You may contact Mrs. Marsh at (228) 219-0980 or Mrs. Peck at (228) 209-4498 to schedule a meeting time. Payment arrangements will be made directly with the tutor.

WHEN WILL REPORT CARDS BE AVAILABLE FOR PICKUP?

Report cards will be available for pickup from Thursday, May 23 until Thursday, June 6. Report cards and standardized testing scores will only be available upon complete payment of any outstanding balance.

WHEN IS ORIENTATION AND THE FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL?

Orientation for the 2024-2025 school year will be Tuesday, August 6, from 6:30-7:30 p.m. in the Grace Baptist Church auditorium. Attendees will earn a $25.00 credit towards tuition per student enrolled. The first day of school will be Tuesday, August 13. School begins at 8:00 a.m. Dismissal will be at 12:00 p.m.

WILL THERE BE A UNIFORM DONATION/EXCHANGE?

There will be a uniform donation/exchange table available at orientation. You may donate uniform items as well as take any needed uniform items for your student. We ask that all donations be brought in no later than the last week of school.

IS THERE AN OPTION FOR GETTING MY STUDENT’S UNIFORM ALTERED?

If you are in need of uniform alterations or would like to order custom made skirts, please contact Carol Clark at (228) 219-0301.

READING RECOMMENDATIONS OVER THE SUMMER?

We encourage students to continue strong reading habits over the summer. Under
the Student Resources tab located at our website www.gbaos.org we have included a list of book recommendations, links to Godly music, as well as Bible preaching.

WILL THE SCHOOL BE CHANGING THE DRESS CODE FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR?

GBA anticipates no changes to the school dress code. Please note that when purchasing uniform shirts they must be in the following colors: red, gray, black, any shade of blue, or white. Pants and skirts must be gray, black, khaki, or navy blue.

DOES THE SCHOOL OFFER COUNSELING SERVICES?

Counseling is available for interested parents or students by appointment only. Please contact the school office to schedule an appointment with Pastor Perkins or Mr. Carpenter.

WHAT WILL BE THE EMPHASIS FOR GBA FOR THE 2024-2025 SCHOOL YEAR?

Our emphasis for the 2024-2025 school year will be Student Involvement. We sincerely desire for the students to want to “Own Their School.” We aim to
promote this endeavor by giving students areas of responsibility, leadership opportunities, ways to support missions, and much more.

UPCOMING DATES OF INTEREST:

  • Deep South Youth Conference will be June 4-6 at Faith Baptist Church in Gulfport.
  • Grace Baptist Church is hosting its annual Vacation Bible School July 7-10, from 6:00 p.m. -8:00 p.m. All children ages 4-12 are welcome and encouraged to attend.
  • Full Throttle will meet over the summer. Please visit www.gracefullthrottle.com for upcoming events. The first Full Throttle Sr. event will be on May 18 at Bacot Park from 12:00-2:00 p.m. for ages 12-17. The first Full Throttle Jr. event will be a Foam Party on June 7 in the school gymnasium for ages 4-11.
